Ye Chen has been awarded the Platinum Prize in Category Art – Paintings with her work “Perceptual Constellations II” at the Global Best Creative Awards 2025 Autumn Season.

Ye is a visual artist currently based in Milan, where she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Art Therapy at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, following the completion of her previous Master’s degree in Painting at the same institution. Her practice reflects a sustained engagement with the body as a site of perception, memory, and transformation, positioning painting as both a sensorial language and a psychological space.

Rooted in bodily perception, Ye Chen’s work explores the intersections of experience, memory, and sensorial awareness. Drawing from philosophical and psychological inquiry, she translates abstract inner states into tangible visual forms. Her paintings resist purely verbal interpretation, instead inviting viewers into subtle emotional and perceptual territories shaped by touch, intuition, and symbolism.
Central to her artistic language is the body — and particularly the skin — understood as a threshold between the material and the spiritual. In her work, the surface becomes both a container of emotion and a site of transformation. Through the use of transparent materials, layered textures, and organic substances, her paintings embody cycles of fragility and renewal, fragmentation and integration, reflecting processes of healing and becoming.
A recurring element in Ye Chen’s practice is hair, which carries profound symbolic weight. While intrinsically connected to the body, hair becomes autonomous once detached, existing as both an extension of identity and a material metaphor. As an Asian woman engaging with Western philosophical and psychological discourses, Ye Chen perceives hair as a bridge between cultural memory and individual experience — a thread connecting the visible and the invisible, the personal and the collective.

Her award-winning work, Perceptual Constellations II, exemplifies this multilayered approach. The painting constructs a field where perception is fragmented yet relational, allowing sensations, memories, and embodied awareness to coexist in delicate tension. The work does not impose meaning; instead, it opens a contemplative space where viewers are invited to sense, rather than decode.
For Ye Chen, art is ultimately a path of integration — a space in which inner and outer realities converge. Her practice moves beyond personal expression to engage with deeper existential questions: how perception, materiality, and transformation can generate spaces for healing, regeneration, and unity.
Through her sensitive and conceptually rigorous approach to painting, Ye Chen has earned her place in the Global Best Creative Awards Hall of Fame, marking her as a compelling voice in contemporary art whose work resonates across cultural, psychological, and sensorial dimensions.
